Four reasons why Nnamdi Kanu will never be president of Biafra

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been at the fore of the fight for the actualization of Bifara.

The pro-Biafrans say there is progress and believe that Biafra Republic will be actualized very soon.

However that may be, there are fears as regards what the leadership of a sovereign state of Biafra would look like.

From close observation and critical reasoning, there are pointers that the leaders of Biafra when and if actualized, will not be Nnamdi Kanu.

Below are four reasons why the Radio Biafra director might not be handed the position.

1. Greed for power

For now, it does seem that the Igbos are united in their quest for actualizing Biafra, however, if the orders are given and the secession is successful, it will baffle many as to the chaos that will erupt regarding the leadership of the Biafra Republic.

The Igbos are power drunk and they see themselves as equal and superior to their peers, hence, it will not just be a case of giving it to the man who was jailed, for the movement, especially because many others died in the process.

Bearing this in mind, everyone would feel entitled to the position when the time is right, and in that time a Kanu would have to fight for the position with others interested in the race.

Politics is a game, anybody can win.

2. The main men are underground
There is no movement with great magnitude that does not have the backing and support of some big-shots in the government or in business. There are those who silently monitoring and financing the Biafra movement in Nigeria, men who Kanu alone and other key leaders, know.

These are the men who will rise after Biafra is actualized, they will raise their sleeping heads to take that which "rightly belongs to them".

It will be easy for such men to be crowned leaders of the Republic, while men like Kanu are honored as freedom fighters for the movement.

Perhaps, men like Kanu will be given some great roles and financial benefits, but not the seat of power itself.

3. The MLK case

It is not all those who have the dream or begin the fight for a course, that get to see the dream come to pass. Martin Luther had a dream, and so did many black Americans of his day, however, they did not get to see the dream come to pass in the person of Barack Obama - who became the first black president of the United Stats of America.

General Ojukwu also had the dream for Biafra but is not alive this day and would never know of its actualization if it happens. Hence, Kanu like these believers before him, may not be around to see the dream coming to pass.

4. Biafra may come, but the time is not now

The Nigeria government as of today, will do anything to ensure that the nation is not divided. It will take so much to achieve a Biafra Republic, even if an Igbo man becomes the president.

It is a very daunting task, because so many signatures have to be appended for a referendum, and many more rigorous processes afterwards.

One can be sure that if the processes are weighed, then it would be a very long time before Biafra can be achieved without bloodshed.

No one can tell when and how the Biafra Republic will be achieved, but there is a chance that it well might not be in the time of Nnamdi Kanu.

Peter Obi advises Nigeria to cultivate saving culture

Peter Obi advised Nigeria to borrow wisely

- The former governor blamed former governors for Nigeria's current problem

- He said they blocked every move by Jonathan to save

The former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi has said the Goodluck Jonathan administration tried to save for a rainy day but governors stopped him from doing so.

The President Muhammadu Buhari has always pointed accusing fingers at the former administration for depleting the country’s treasury but the former Anambra governor has said that the governors should be blamed.

The cable reports that Obi insited that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, former minister of finance, and Muhammad Sanusi II, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), begged the federal government to save but the governors rallied against it.

He advised the Buhari administration to borrow with a plan in mind.

He said: “I was in government when the likes of Ngozi Iweala, Aganga, Sanusi were crying let’s save; we collectively said we don’t want savings, and we are now in this mess; we cannot afford to increase it by going to borrow without a clear road map on what we would use it for.

“People start saving in crisis. Go and check most nations that save, they started it in crisis situation, because they could see the point of not saving yesterday; and that is where we are.

“I have said it before that even if we saved five percent of all our oil earnings from 1960 to date, which is about $1.2 trillion, considering a compound interest of about five percent, we should have about 150 billion today.”

“Imagine what would have been happening if we were in that situation. That was 56 years ago; we have 44 years to our 100th year of independence.

“What I am saying is that if we decide today to save on 50% of our own budgeted output of 2.2 million barrels per day, we decide to save on just 1 million barrels per day, with our earnings at $50 per barrel, in the next 44 years, we would be at 50 to 60 billion dollars.”

“I was in government when Ngozi Iweala was crying meeting after meeting, let’s save money; we need to save for a rainy day. We said no. Some say this woman should not be found near this country,

“We even went to court as a body to challenge savings, and look at where we are today. Instead of us realising from that mistake to say, today let’s start…

Change that constitution that says we cannot save; what type of constitution is that? When we are talking about constitution amendment, we should amend things that are immediate.

“Issue of savings should be included in our constitution today; oil is a depleting asset, and we are not even saving for tomorrow.”

Jonathan earlier revealed how he was forced to spend from the excess crude oil revenue account during his administration.

The former president made this revelation during interview programme with Bloomberg TV.

Jonathan revealed that state governors were to blame for pressurising him to spend from the reserve fund thereby reducing the $20 billion at the inception of his administration left by Olusegun Obasanjo to about $2 billion when he left office on May 29, 2015.

Although the police seized their laptop which had the lewd files in them, The Cable Lifestyle is claiming that the scandalous images of famous Nigerians found on the ladies laptop was what made authourities allow them leave the country quietly just to avoid a potential national embarrassment. But there are fears that there might be copies of these seized images elsewhere.

Securities found unclad (and semi-unclad) images and video of Nigerian billionaires allegedly recorded by the girls at their EKO Hotel room where the escapades usually took place. A very popular minister from the south-west and a former “uncommon” PDP governor from the south-south are in the lewd images.

A very popular minister from the south-west and a former “uncommon” PDP governor from the south-south are in the lewd images.

The unclad picture of a bank MD, a video of high-flying lawyer and businessman from Kogi state pulling down his boxer’s shorts, were all seen on the ladies' laptop. This did not leave out brother of a famous retired general from the middle belt who was also seen in some of the pictures.

“The fear of a scandal of global proportions blowing up in the media during their trial led to a change of tact,” a source familiar with the soft landing deal told The Cable Lifestyle. The police may withdraw the charges when the case is called on January 26 at the magistrate court, except there is a change of plans.

It is worthy to note that the ladies are said to be part owners of notorious website, NaijaGistLive.com, a site where they publish the malicious stories and then collect money (most times in foreign currency) from their victims to pull down the embarrassing story or stop the story from being published. But Nigerian billionaire businessman Femi Otedola got them traced to their hotel room and arrested when they allegedly attacked his wife and daughter, DJ Cuppy.

But it does not seem that's the end of the show because a recent posts on Instagram under the account name “9jagistlive4” suggest that the publications could continue but without collecting money from anyone.

Dead man opens his eyes in coffin, comes back to life moments before being buried

- A 75-year-old man stopped breathing and was dead for some time

- His family was ready to put his coffin into a grave as he opened his eyes

- The resurrected pensioner is still weak and not eating much

"What’s happening? Are you preparing my funeral?" were the first words of Huang Mingquan who found himself lying in a wooden coffin and surrounded by his family.

According to Chinese media, Mr Mingquan, aged 75, "stopped breathing" and had "cold feet and hands" when he was believed to pass away by his son and other relatives.

Soon afterwards a mourning family gathered to say the last farewell to Huang and mourn his death but apparently got the shock of their lives.

Eight hours into the man’s funeral service, he opened the lid of the coffin, sat up and saw wreaths, ornaments, banners from his loved ones.

Huang's stunned children immediately lifted their old dad from the coffin and put him back on to his bed.
Days after his miraculous resurrecion the pensioner is still rather weak and bed bound. His family is still trying to comprehend what had happened days ago.

UNIOSUN students divert N2 billion school fees to MMM

- UNIOSUN undergraduates refuse to pay their tuition fees and invest money in MMM instead

- Authorities of the university claim that students already owe the institution two billion naira

- The students who failed to pay their fees won't be allowed to attend classes and write exams

- The MMM ponzi scheme froze funds of its users promising to lift the measure on January 14

Authorities of Osun State University have reported about two billion naira owed by students of the university who put money in the MMM ponzi scheme instead.

The news has been recently made public by Professor Labode Popoola, the school Vice Chancellor (VC), on the university campus.

Mr Popoola also expressed his dissapoinment with the students who abused the opportunity of tuition fees part payment given by the university for convenience sake of parents and guardians.

He also warned that the school would publish the names and other personal details of the debtors and enforce its full rules and regulations on defaulters.

Besides, defaulters will not be allowed to attend classes and write examinations until they pay their fees.

The professor said: "The university has decided to call this press conference to educate and enlighten the stakeholders in particular and the public in general about the financial position of the Osun State University.

Osun State University, being a public institution, is financed from grants from the state government and she also heavily relies on school fees from its students and other Internally Generated Revenues. The state government under the leadership of Mr Rauf Aregbesola, when he came on board, reduced the school fees.

I wish to confirm that the University has not increased its school fees despite the economic recession. The University remains one of the few state owned institutions that charge modest fees. In all matters concerning our students, their interests remain our paramount consideration.

Meanwhile, I wish to let the public know the current amount being charged since 2011: Programmes Amount per session. Freshers: Science 100,000 Naira and 110,000 Naira; Law (including Nursing Science) 125,000 Naira and 135,000 naira; Non-Science, 95,000 Naira and 105,000 Naira; Acceptance fee, 40,000 Naira; Admission Checker, 2,000 Naira; Medical Fee, 15,000 Naira, Matriculation fee, 5,000 Naira and Late registration fee is 10,000 Naira per semester.

From the breakdown above, it can be seen that the highest school fee for staylite is 125,000 Naira in a session for law and nursing science students; whereas there are some private secondary schools in Osun State that charge about 150,000 Naira and above per term.

It is, however, disheartening to note that the University has discovered that despite the fact that the University operates an enviable stable academic calendar, mobilises its graduating students Youth Service without delay, many of our students still owe school fees running to two billion Naira.

If this trend continues, there is no way the university could perform its financial responsibilities.

Henceforth, Senate at its meeting has approved the implementation of the following guidelines:

1. That all students who fail to register will no longer be allowed into lecture rooms and will not be allowed to write examination;

2. That only students who fulfil the requirement would be allowed to write examination;

3. That the policy of 70% attendance at lectures for students will be strictly enforced;

4. That new students are to pay school fees in full and on time for retention of their studentship;

5. That names of defaulters will be published soon. All parents and guardians are hereby advised to warn their children and wards to pay their fees on time and not to divert their school fees to other areas."

Meanwhile, the students ask the university management to give them a chance to pay up their school fees within the next three weeks.

Recall that on December 13 MMM Nigeria announced the freezing of all members' accounts due to systems overload and the negative attention brought on by the government and mass media.

However, MMM representatives promised unfreeze access to its users accounts and funds on January 14.

“Abeg My Naija People No Vex”, Mr Eazi Apologizes After Twitter Backlash

After the back and forth rants yesterday and earlier today by Nigerians on Twitter, Nigerian born singer, Mr Eazi has apologized to his esteemed fans.

He took to Twitter to make the announcement, ““Just got a call, my fam in Imeko are doing family meeting to deport me to Ghana. Abeg my Naija people no vex.

The rave of the moment and Headies “Next Rated” act had earlier suggested that Nigerian music was greatly influenced by Ghanaian sound, a move Nigerian’s saw as very offensive.

According to him, “Ghana’s influence on present day “Naija Sound” cannot be over emphasized”.

While his position on this may not be entirely incorrect/inaccurate, a chunk of fans and Nigerian music lovers went ballistic.

We hope this is water under the bridge for the Star Boy Worldwide ensign.

Olumide Olagbegi who is a pastor said God can come in different ways while one Imam Hamzat Oyeyemi said it was a good sign for the family living in the compound.

He said: “It is a miracle. This Arabic word appeared in a Christian house, is a sign of goodness; it is a mystery to mankind and people should be good.

“God has 99 names. The first is Allah, the name is from God, no one can share a name with God.

Mr Michael Dada who us the owner of the second house said the Arabic inscription was noticed in December 2016.

“We invited some Muslims, they told us the name of Allah was written on it, we are Christians so we do not know the meaning.

“I don’t want to turn it to anything, anybody can come and pray as they believe, it is a mystery.

- The world's former fattest woman has lost 260kg and now is looking for a lover

- The woman, aged 40, who was bed bound now spends most of her time in a gym

- "They (men) ask me only for tips for their sisters, aunts, mums," Catrina laughed

Catrina Raiford known as the half-tonne woman or the fattest woman in the world has shed half of her weight.

The 40-year-old hit the international headlines after half of her home had to be bulldozed away so that emergency workers could take her to hospital on a flatbed truck

Completely immobile because of her staggering 470kg weight she developed breathing difficulties and spent days lying in her bed, eating and surfing the internet.
Recalling the past days Catrina said: "I was in bed for so long that now I've lost the weight, I just want to be free.

It was the worst time of my life. I just wanted to die. Each day I'd just eat and go online from morning to night."

Back in the day she used photos of slim women to chat with men over the internet.
But an embarrassing incident with a bulldozer made her to embark on a strict diet and go in for sports.
More than a year after first sharing her story Catrina moved from California to Texas and became a regular visitor of a local gym.

Inspired by her progress, she plans to lose even more weight, have excess skin cut off and reshape her figure.
Moreover, she joined a number of dating sites and even had a number of real life dates.
Now she is hoping to find a love of her life and start a new life.
Being bulldozed out of my house was the worst thing that had ever happened to me. But it was also the thing that saved me. Now I'm a new woman," Catrina said.

Obasanjo advises Nigerians to return to God for a successful 2017

Nigerians have been advised to back to the basics spiritually, economically, politically and socially if they must have a successful 2017.

This advice was given by ex-Nigerian president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, after a church service in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, on New Year's Day.

According to Vanguard, the Ogun high chief said: "We are looking forward with hope to a better year than the one we have just got out off.

"And there is no reason why it should not be in every sense of the word socially, economically, politically and even spiritually so am looking forward to the 2017 that will make everything news for Nigeria.

"I think we have to go back to the basic, fundamentals. The fundamentals of economic recovery and growth I believe that if we do that we will get there."
